One month into the baseball season and the leading hitter in the Eastern League(AA) plays at Hadlock Field in Portland. Seadogs second baseman Mookie Betts is tearing it up in the Red Sox farm system, hitting .430 4 HR and 13 RBI. Add in 10 stolen bases and stellar defense and you are talking about a prospect that is climbing the charts.

In last night's 3-2 to Reading, Betts had two more hits and a walk. His has reached base safely in 52 straight games dating back to last year. He has a 17 game hitting streak.

Betts is 21 years old and was drafted out of high school in the 5th round in 2011 by the Red Sox.

Betts and the Seadogs are off to a 15-7 start, good for 1st place in their division.
