There are no more unbeaten men's basketball teams in the North Atlantic Conference. The Pilgrims of New England College came to Newman Gymnasium Saturday afternoon and beat the Husson Eagles 84-82.

NEC Men 84  Husson 82 The Eagles got off to a fast start (11-3) but NEC went on a a 16-0 spurt and the Eagles spent the rest of the day trying to catch up. They never did.

In the final moments, Husson closed the gap to one but could never get the game tied.

Jason Jones led the Pilgrims with a double-double, 16 points and 14 rebounds.

DJ Bussey had 21 and Raheem Anderson had 18 to lead the Eagles. Justin Martin had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Husson is now 7-1 NAC, 10-3 overall. NEC is 6-1 and 10-4.

Husson Women 70  NEC 53: The women's bounced back from a Friday night loss to Colby-Sawyer by putting together a big second half vs the Pilgrims. The game was tied 35-35 at halftime when the Eagles rolled to a 16-3 third quarter to put the game away.

Kenzie Worcester finished with 18 points. The post tandem of Sami Ireland and Megan Peach combined for 28 points and 19 rebounds.

The Eagles improve to 6-2 in the NAC, 7-5 overall. The Pilgrims are now 3-4 and 6-6.
