The first weekend of college hockey play is in the books and Hockey East has 6 of the top 20 teams in the first USCHO national poll. The newest HE member, Notre Dame leads the pack at #4.

The Irish shut out Western Michigan twice to earn that #4 spot in the nation.

UMass-Lowell was the #1 team in the pre-season national poll but fell to #9 after splitting a weekend series with UMass.

The Maine Black Bears got swept in St. Lawrence and will play its home opener Saturday night against  Bentley.
