While the New England Patriots were getting ready to prepare for their playoff game on Sunday, defensive end Chandler Jones was hospitalized for what was described as a medical emergency.

Reports out of Boston indicate that Jones walked to the Foxborough police department during the day Sunday and was described as a "confused party". Police called the fire department to come treat Jones who was taken to Norwood Hospital where he was treated and released.

During this time the police went to secure his home and according to audio recordings between the attending officer and dispatch, the officer said “I got his keys off the kitchen table, I was able to lock the front door. If you want to just pass along to the fire, he was definitely involved with Class D delta before this happened, just so they know.” Delta D is the code for Class D narcotics which includes marijuana.

The Patriots have released a short statement that says the following. “Chandler Jones was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and released that day. He reported to work on time Monday morning and has participated in all meetings and practices since then.”
