Pedroia In Fold, Now What For The Sox?

No baseball at Fenway last night. The Sox vs Tampa Bay game will be made up Monday, after the Sox play in Baltimore for a weekend series.

Dustin Pedroia has his long-term deal now so does that means anything as the trade deadline approaches? Might the Sox be willing to trade a young infielder prospect knowing Pedroia will be around for a while?

Keep in mind the trade deadline is next Wednesday. Will Middlebrooks, Xander Bogaerts, Matt Barnes - just a few of the names mentioned as talented young prospects and trading chips perhaps.

Wednesday night Middlebrooks went 2 for 4 with a home run (8th) for the Pawsox. He is now hitting .278.

Xander Bogaerts went 3 for 3 last night and is hitting .273 as the youngest player in the International League.

Matt Barnes pitched well for the Portland Seadogs last night. 5-innings, allowing just one run and struck out 8.

It should be interesting as the clock ticks toward the deadline.
