IMG_0714Wednesday saw an upset in the class A quarterfinals as #6 Messalonskee beat #3 Bangor. Hampden will try to avoid that same fate today against Lewiston.McLean Poulin's second seeded Broncos take a 14-2 record into the game against #7 Lewiston who has piled up 10 wins on the season. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this year.

Hampden is anchored by two solid starting pitchers in Matt Palmer and Matt Martin and good defense. Only four times this season have the Broncos allowed 4 or more runs in a game.

Lewiston has been one of the better Eastern Maine teams over the last few years and won the regional championship in 2011.
