This is clean-out-the-locker day for the Boston Bruins. Break up day is always hard, especially when it comes about a month earlier than expected. The reports out of Boston have captain Zdeno Chara will a fractured finger that needs surgery.

The report comes from the Slovakian national team and not the Bruins. Chara was scheduled to join that team for international play but will not because of the injury.

It is unclear when he injured the finger. Chara did take a slash on the hand in game 3 and in game 7.

Chara attempted 9 shots in the last 4 games of the Montreal series.
