SLWS Returns To Bangor For 13th Year

The 2014 Senior League Baseball World Series will return to Mansfield Stadium in Bangor in August. Little League Baseball has announced series sites for 9 tournaments and the return of the 14 to 16-year-old division to Bangor marks the 13th consecutive year as host.

The '14 SLWS tournament will run from August 10th through the 16th at Mansfield Stadium. ESPN will again broadcast the world championship game.

9 teams from around the world and the Maine district #3 winnning team make up the 10-team field. A team from Panama won the 2013 title.

More and more former SLWS players have gone on to make it to major league baseball including Xander Bogaerts(Red Sox) and Kolton Wong(Cardinals) who played in last month's MLB World Series.

SLWS tournament director Mike Brooker will be a guest on the Wednesday Morning Pitch Show on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket. He is scheduled for 7:15AM.
