The Red Sox have apparently won the bidding war for Cuban infielder Yoan Moncada with a $31-million-dollar signing bonus.

The Sox beat out the Yankees in the bidding frenzy to sign one of the top international players to come along in recent years.

Moncada is 19-years-old and is a switch hitter. He is expected to be a second baseman or perhaps a third baseman.

Scouts say he is a five-tool player and will be considered a top 15 prospect when he arrives in Boston.

Unlike Rusney Castillo, Moncada will likely need a year or two in the minors.
