Jon Lester was rolling along with a five run lead in the 8th inning...and then felt a "zinging sensation" in his leg. He leaves the game but the Sox do go on to beat Toronto 7-4 in the first of a big four game series.

Lester had thrown 94 pitches when he slipped on a delivery of a pitch. Manager John Farrell took no chances with the injury an removed him from the game. After the game he said it was no big deal - just a jammed hip.

Seems like they said the same thing about Buchholz - no big deal. Believe 'em on Lester?

As for the game, the Sox scored all seven runs in the 2nd inning. Dustin Pedroia capped off the inning with a 2-run homer.

After Lester lef tthe game, Junichi Tazawa came on to get three outs in the 8th. Koji Uehara pitched a 1-2-3 9th to get his second save in as many nights.

At 48-33, the Red Sox are tied with Pittsburgh for the most wins in baseball.

Yes...the Sox and the Pirates have the two best records in the game. How about that!
