Connor Robertson of Orono scored 31 points in the Red Riots 64-55 triumph over the Ellsworth Eagles on Saturday. Robertson knocked down seven three pointers. It was a more than solid return to the court for Robertson, who missed the majority of the 2017-18 season due to injury.

Trinity Montigny of Ellsworth scored a game-high 19 points, leading the Eagles to a 46-41 victory over the Orono Red Riots on Saturday. It was a good start to the season for the junior, who had to work her way back from an injury suffered during a workout a month after the Eagles' 2017-18 basketball season came to an end.

Dom Mitchell of Old Town dropped a game-high 26 points against MDI on Saturday. Despite that strong performance, the Coyotes were unable to escape Bernard Parady Gymnasium with a win, as Old Town fell to MDI, 72-66, in their season opener. Old Town will look to rebound Tuesday, when they host Ellsworth.

Emilee Cohen of Central posted 19 points in the Red Devils' season opening win against Sumner on Friday night. The 5-9 forward knocked down six field goals and 7-of-10 free throws. Central will look to improve upon their 2017-18 season, when they lost to Houlton, 41-38, in the semifinal round of the Class C North tournament.

Voting is restricted to once every 24 hours. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
