Bob Ryan and Chad Finn of The Boston Globe, Rich Levine of CSNNE, Bangor Daily News cartoonist George Danby and more on this week's Best of Downtown with Rich Kimball.

Ryan talks about his new book, "Scribe" and his encounters with the likes of Celtics' greats Dave Cowens and Larry Bird. On Bird, Ryan said it would be a mistake to think of Bird as the "Hick from French Lick."

"That was just a little phrase that had a resonance to it," Ryan said. "He was the smartest player that we ever saw."
