Blizzard Warning Posted For Bangor, Eastern Maine [UPDATE]
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the Bangor area and most of eastern Maine for Sunday into Monday, calling for up to 24 inches of snow in some areas.
The forecast is calling for the storm to hit the Bangor area at around 4 p.m. Sunday and snow through Monday. The warning is calling for 18-24 inches of snow in northern and eastern Maine, with 22 inches expected in the Bangor area.
The snow is expected to be heavy and wet, more so the closer to the coast you get.
The forecast also is calling for high northeast winds of 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph across interior areas and 60 mph along the coast.
Travel is expected to be extremely difficult.
