The New England Patriots lost their preseason game to the Houston Texans 27-23 but the storyline in this one is who did play in the game.
First and foremost, Tom Brady started and went 6-for-9, 67 yards and a TD to Rex Burkhead. Brady played for the first two possessions.
Gronk played. Rob Gronkowski played about 15 snaps. He didn't make any catches but that's the first time he's played in a preseason game since 2012.
Wide receivers Julian Edelman and Bradin Cooks played for the first time. Cooks made one catch.
And Jimmy Garoppolo went 15-for-23 passing with a TD and an interception.
Next up for the (0-2) Patriots, preseason game #3 at Detroit Friday night.
