Ortiz Gets One Game Suspension

Major League Baseball has suspended Red Sox DH David Ortiz for one game plus he has been fined. All because he made contact with the home plate umpire during an argument in Sunday's vs Baltimore.

Ortiz thought he had checked his swing but an appeal was made to third base umpire Jerry Meals and he called it a strike.

Ortiz dropped his bat and got into it with homeplate umpire John Tumpane. He ejected Ortiz from the game and Ortiz brushed the umpire.

Ortiz has appealed the the suspension so he is eligible to play tonight.
