41-year-old Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara will play next year and it will be with the Bruins after signing a one year, $5 million dollar deal.

The 6-foot-9 Chara is in his 20th year in the NHL. He lead the Bruins in time-on-ice, averaging 23 minutes per game. Chara has seven goals and 16 assists and a plus/minue of +26.

This is the 7th and final year of his $45 million dollar deal. He could have been a free agent and many in the NHL say he could have gotten a longer deal and more money from another team.

He decided to stay in Boston for a 13th year.

NOTE: The Bruins battle the Tampa Bay Lightning Thursday night at Boston Garden for first place in the Atlantic Division. Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket has live coverage following live coverage of the Red Sox season opener.
