Our 2016 Sports Hero's Award winners are the epitome of volunteerism in their communities - in Corinth, Greenville and Dover-Foxcroft.

Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket and Hero's Sports Grill in Bangor salute three deserving volunteers who have helped make a wide variety of sports activities happen in their community. We look forward to honoring our winners at a special luncheon on November 1st.

Josh Campbell - Corinth

If something needs to be done for any sports program, Josh has been there. He has been a volunteer coach at all levels for softball, basketball and soccer. He has volunteered as an umpire, referee, scorekeeper for youth sports. Josh has helped paint dugouts, install playground equipment, installing fencing and clean the grounds. He is a member of the Corinth recreation department.

Bette DiAngelo - Greenville

Bette is described as everyone's organizer and calendar in Greenville. She has been president of the sports boosters for over five years. Bette helps organize the snack shack for every home game at the middle school and high school level. She organized a golf tournament that served as a fundraiser for the local Catholic Church. Bette also volunteers on the Boy Scout Troop 120 committee and Greenville Adult Literacy.

Tim Smith - Dover-Foxcroft

Tim may be best known in many sports arenas as an administrator at Foxcroft Academy but the Sports Hero Award honors his countless hours helping Foxcroft youth sports. Teams need fields that are mowed and lined. The needed equipment and uniforms for teams is constant. Tim has helped revamp all of these programs for football, field hockey, soccer, basketball, cheerleading baseball, softball and track. People in Dover-Foxcroft appreciate how he makes all sports feel important and be successful.
