Bangor’s Powell Top Contender HS Golf

The Natanis GC in Vassalboro is calling the 100 best high school golfers for a Saturday championship. It's MPA schoolboy and schoolgirl individual state title day.

Players will get one 18-hole round to claim a schoolboy title in Class A, Class B, Class C plus the schoolgirl championship.

Last week, team titles were won by Falmouth, Camden Hills and St. Dom's.

At individual qualifying last week Chris Billings(Cheverus) turned in the best score among Class A contenders with a 73. Luke Ruffing(Maranacook) fired a 68 to top the Class B ranks. Robbie Watson(Ft. Fairfield) posted the best Class C score at 75. The top schoolgirl score was 80 by Monica Austin(NYA).
