Former UMaine Black Bear and current KC Chief Mike DeVito suffered a ruptured achilles in Sunday's NFL season opener against the Tennessee Titans. The injury happened in the third quarter. The Titan won 26-10.

KC coach Andy Reid confirmed the achilles injury in the post game press conference. Reid also announced that all pro linebacker Derrick Johnson also suffered a ruptured achilles.

It is unknown on how long DeVito will be out with the injury but it could be the rest of the NFL season.

DeVito is a former all CAA player and a captain with the UMaine Black Bears.

He is in his 8th season in the NFL.
