The Baltimore Orioles have sent struggling Ryan Flaherty down to Triple-A Norfolk after hitting just .130 in 30 games this season.

Flaherty played his high school baseball for Deering HS in Portland and his college ball at Vanderbilt. While the Orioles like his defense and versitility, the .130 average in 90 at bats was just not enough.

The move to send him down to triple-A came the same day his father, Ed Flaherty and his USM Huskies won two games at the NCAA Division-3 regional in Massachusetts. USM is one win away from making the CWS.
