Curt Smith played for Curacao in the first ever SRWS played in Bangor back in 2002. He went on to play for the University of Maine Black Bear baseball team before getting drafted by the St Louis Cardinals.

Shairon Martis, a righthanded pitcher, played on the Curacao team as a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old in 2002 and 2003.

Jonathan Schoop played at Mansfield Stadium in the world series back in 2008 for another Curacao team.

Xander Bogaerts played for the senior league team from Aruba in 2009. The Red Sox signed him just a few days after playing in Bangor. He is now the Sox #1 prospect and #8 prospect in all of baseball.
