We'd like to congratulate Houlton running back Jake Drew for being voted this week's McDonald's Athlete of the Week. he scored four touchdowns, rushing for 319 yards on 14 carries and led Houlton to the program's first LTC victory -- a 44-30 win over Washington Academy.

Drew received 55 percent of the more than 7,000 votes cast at our website.*

MDI's Camilla Thomassen-Tai came in a close second after leading MDI to a sweep over southern Maine volleyball teams. Our third nominee, MCI's outstanding running back, Jonathan Santiago, also had a great week, rushing for 230 yards on 16 carries and scored three touchdowns in a 42-6 win over Dexter.

Drew joins Bangor High School running back Dane Johnson became our first McDonald's High School Athlete of the Week after rushing for 152 yards and scoring four touchdowns in the Rams’ opening night win over Edward Little.
