Red Sox closer Koji Uehara finished 7th in voting for the American League Cy Young Award. Detroit's Max Scherzer won the award getting 28 out of 30 first place votes.

Uehara received a second place and two third place votes. He took over as Sox closer in the second half of the year and finished with astonishing numbers...21 saves, 1.09 ERA, 101 K's in 74-innings.
