Legion Tourney: Bangor Advances,Who Else?

The Coffee News(Bangor) American Legion baseball team punched its ticket to the State Championship Tournament. Now the battle is on for the second team to go.

The Comrades scored a ninth inning run on a two out hit by Andrew Hillier to beat Post 51 of Oakland 2-1.

The win guarantees Bangor a return to the state tourney - either as Zone 1 champion or Zone 1 runner up. That will be decided next.

The zone play is down to just three teams - Coffee News, Post 51 and Brewer.

4PM  Post 51  vs  Brewer (loser is eliminated) (winner gets spot in state tourney)

7PM  Coffee News  vs  Winner of 4PM game (Zone Title Game)

* The If Necessary zone championship game would be Sunday at 7pm.
