Papi 3-Run Blast Gives Sox 5-2 Win [VIDEO]
A 5-2 win in Baltimore last night puts the Red Sox record in September at a MLB best 13-5. The Sox have won 11 of their last 14 games and are clearly playing their best ball when it counts most.
David Ortiz cranked the biggest hit, a 3-run homer in the 7th inning. It was his 36th home run of the season and he now has 118 RBI.
Jackie Bradley Jr. hit his 26th homer. Mookie Betts had three hits, including his 200th hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Eduardo Rodriguez pitched 6.1 innings of two run, four hit ball. E-Rod struck out seven and walked just one.
Four relievers pitched shutout ball and Craig Kimbrel finished it with his 28th save.
So the Orioles drop five games behind the Sox and attention turns back to Toronto. The Blue Jays won 10-2 in Seattle late last night and become the second place team in the AL East, four games behind the Sox.
