Patrice Bergeron blasted a one-timer shot with 1:15 to play in the game to give he Boston Bruins a 2-1 home opener win over New Jersey. It was Begeron's season debut.

Injury kept Bergie out of the lineup for the first three games but the magic he has with Brad Marchand quickly showed at the Garden.

Marchand had a goal and an assist. He now has nine points in the first four games.

Tuukka Rask made 28 saves in goal for the win.

The B's host Montreal Saturday night.
