Nathan Eovaldi gets an A+ for his Red Sox debut after pitching seven shutout innings in a 3-0 win over the Minnesota Twins.

It was 'Maine Day' at Fenway Park and Pine Tree State fans saw a little bit of everything. Great pitching, great defense by Jackie Bradley Jr. and three more RBI by J.D. Martinez.

Eovaldi, who came to the Sox from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for LHP Jalen Beeks, gave up just four hits, struck out five and did not walk a batter. He threw 82 pitches and 63 were strikes.

Matt Barnes pitched the 8th inning. Craigh Kimbrel pitched the 9th and got his 33rd save.

On offense, Martinez drove in all three runs (89) with a single and a double. Andrew Benitendi, Eduardo Nunez and Blake Swihart all had three hits.

The Sox move to 74-33 and the 41 games over .500 is the most for the Sox since 1946.
