In their final home game of the season the Boston Red Sox game their fans something to cheer about as they shutout the Baltimore Orioles and sweep the weekend series.Henry Owens was the big story in this game as he pitched 7.2 innings of 3-hit shutout ball with 5 strikeouts. The win improves the rookie’s record to 4-3.

On offense Brock Holt scored the only run that was needed in the bottom of the first inning when he came home from third base on a wild pitch by Ubaldo Jiminez. Blake Swihart would add an insurance run in the third inning when he launched a solo home run to right center field for his third long ball of the season.

Before the game the Sox honored outgoing team President Larry Lucchino with an on field ceremony before he threw out the first pitch. They also recognized television announcer Don Orsillo who was calling his last game at Fenway Park as he will be replaced for next season.

Boston will conclude the regular season on the road with games against the Yankees and Indians.
