The Patriots sent another strong contributor to the injured reserve on Wednesday as Marcus Cannon will now miss the remainder of the season.

Cannon started for the Pats at the right tackle position for seven of the first eight games with New England before missing Weeks 10-14 of the season due to an ankle injury.

In addition to losing Cannon, the Pats also reactivated Rob Gronkowski from suspension, officially signed WR Kenny Britt to a contract, resigned DL Ricky Jean Francois and released Jonathan Freeny and Bernard Reedy.

New England will be battling for the top spot in the AFC this weekend as they face the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road.
