Boston Red Sox pitcher Rick Porcello has won the Players Choice Awards Outstanding Pitcher in the American League.

Porcello was voted as the winner of the award by members of the Major League Baseball Players Association.  The righty in his second season with the Boston Red Sox led the AL with 22 wins and sported a 3.15 ERA in 2016.

MLB ERA leader Kyle Hendricks won the award in the National League, while Michael Fullmer and Corey Seager took home Top Rookie honors.  Other awards handed out included  the Marvin Miller Man of the Year to New York Mets' outfielder Curtis Granderson, Player of the Year to Jose Altuve and Daniel Murphy, Comeback Player of the Year to Baltimore's Mark Trumbo, and Jose Fernandez was awarded the National League Comeback award posthumously for his play in 2016

The award for the Cy Young will be announced on November 16th by the MLB.
