Boston Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale left Saturday's spring training game against the Houston Astros after being struck by a line drive.

The Red Sox said Sale, who was struck on the left hip, will be evaluated further.

Sale went to the ground and also appeared to clutch his left knee after being struck by a line drive off the bat of Houston's J.D. Davis.

Sale, who has already been announced as Boston's starting pitcher for the team's opening day matchup against the Tamp Bay Rays on Thursday, headed back to the dugout after being examined by team medical personnel.
