Rookie Rafael Devers hit a three-run homer and Mookie Betts hit a two-run blast as the Boston Red Sox beat up the listless Chicago White Sox 9-5 Thursday night at Fenway. Combined with another Yankee loss, the Sox increase their lead in the AL East to two games.

The Sox(60-49) pounded out 15 hits against the White Sox who are in big time rebuild mode. Andrew Benintendi had three of the hits. Two each from Mookie Betts, Rafael Devers and Hanley Ramirez.

Rick Porcello(5-14) struggled through five plus innings to get the win - his first in six starts. Porcello worked 5.1 innings, allowing five runs, seven hits and two walks. He threw 103 pitches in the short outing.

The Boston bullpen pitched 3.2 innings of shutout ball.

By the way, former top Sox prospect Yoan Moncada went 0-for-2 with two walks and a strikeout for the White Sox.
