The Red Sox scored eight runs late in the game vs the Detroit Saturday night and wound up pounding the Tigers 11-3. The victory gives Chris Sale his 7th consecutive win.

Early in the game, Sox hitters drove up Justin Verlander's pitch count, he lasted just five innings. And them it was time to get after that Detroit bullpen. Three runs in the 7th inning, five more in the 8th.

Xander Bogaerts had three hits and a RBI. Mitch Moreland added two hits and three RBI.

Sale pitched seven innings, giving up three runs. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter. Sale is now 8-2 with a 2.97 ERA.

The Sox are 34-27 and in second place in the AL East.
