Schilling Says Chewing Tobacco Caused Cancer
Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling said his 30-year habit of using chewing tobacco caused his cancer - a form of mouth cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. Schilling appeared on the annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund radio/telethon.
The 47-year-old Schilling spent six months in the hospital and now says his cancer is in remission.
Former Buffalo Bills QB Jim Kelly suffers from the same type of cancer.
