Andrew Benintendi stepped to the plate as a pinch-hitter in the 9th inning and clubbed a sacrifice fly to score the game winning run as the Red Sox beat the Phillies 2-1 Saturday night.

The Sox played the perfect spoiler against the Phils, who now trail the National League wildcard playoff race by 3.5 games.

For most of the night it was Eduardo Rodriquez vs Aaron Nola. Both starters were dominate. E-Rod worked 6.2 innings of four-hit, one run ball. He struck out a season high 12 batters. Nola, the ace of the Phillies, went seven innings and allowed just one run. He was not involved in the decision.

Matt Barnes and Brandon Workman finished the game for the Sox. Workman now has 13 saves and nine wins this season.
