When the Senior Little League Baseball World Series begin later this summer in Bangor, the road to world title for the local team will be a difficult one. A blind draw to set the 10-team pool play was held at Mansfield Stadium Monday afternoon.

The local team (District #3 champ) will take on the USA Southwest Region champ - for the past two years that has been Texas and that team has won back-to-back world championships.

Last year's Maine champion was Old Town. The team went 2-2 at the SLWS. Three players from that team helped draw this year's matchups.

The 15th SLWS in Bangor is set for July 30th through August 6th at Mansfield Stadium with the championshp game live on ESPN.

The blind draw set up the following first game matchups...

Maine (District #3 champ)  vs  USA Southwest

USA Southeast  vs  USA East

Europe- Africa  vs  USA Central

Latin America  vs  Canada

Asia-Pacific and USA West teams get byes

NOTE: The District #3 tournament begins July 15th with teams from Bangor, Brewer, Old Town, Sebasticook Valley, Bronco-Hermon and Holbrook.
