UMaine baseball scored its first America East Conference of the spring, a 6-3 win over UMaryland Baltimore County. UMBC did come back to win game two 3-1 to gain a split.

GAME 1: Logan Fullmer pitched all nine innings in the 6-3 win. He scattered 12 hits and three runs. Fullmer struck out four and did not walk a batter. The Black Bear offense scored five times in the second inning. Colin Ridley led the Bears at the plate with three hits and a RBI.

GAME 2: UMaine was held to just five hits in the 3-1 loss in the nightcap. One of them was a Brett Chappell home run. John Arel was a tough luck loser. He went the distance giving up three runs.

The Bears are now 1-6 AE, 9-23 overall. UMBC is 6-4 and 16-15. One more game Sunday afternoon in the weekend series.

UMAINE SOFTBALL: The Black Bears got a complete game shutout from Erin Bogdanovich in game one, winning 3-0. Binghamton won the second game 7-3. The Bears are now 5-2 AE and 16-15 over. Binghamton is 7-2 and21-11.
