Corey Brandon tossed three TD passes, John Smith rushed for 217 yards and the defense forced five turnovers as the Husson Eagles knocked SUNY-Maritime from the ranks of the unbeaten.

The 35-17 Eagles win moves their record to 4-1 overall (2-0 ECFC) while the Privateers fall to 4-1 and 1-1-.

Brandon, Husson's junior QB, had a brilliant day throwing the ball. 15-for-24, 234 yards and three touchdowns. He breaks the school record for career TDs with 39. Brandon has seven this season.

Smith, who rushed for 301 yards last week against Endicott, pounded the Privateers for 217 yards and a TD. He passes former Plymouth State runner Joe Dudek for 11th place on the NCAA Division III career rushing list with 5,633 yards.

The Eagles offense outgained the Privateers 481-315 yards.

The Husson defense intercepted SUNY quarterback Thomas Wright three times and forced two fumbles. Senior Luke Washburn led the Eagles with 11 tackles.

Next for Husson, another ECFC home game vs Castleton next Saturday.
