Brewer's Austin Lufkin finishes his high school indoor track and field career with a record breaking throw in the shot put - a 40 year old record breaking throw.

At the Class A state championship meet at USM, Lufkin threw the shot put 60-feet 2-inches, breaking the Ed Bogdanovich record set 40 years ago.

Other individuals winners at the state meet include Bangor's Rihan Smallwood in the pole vault. She jumped 11-feet 4-inches.

Hampden's Paul Casavant won the two-mile event and Hampden Daija Misler won the girls shot put with a throw of 40-feet 9-inches.

Scarborough High School won team titles in both girls and boys.

Bangor boys finished 6th. Brewer and Hampden tied for 8th place.
