Spencer-Thompson Signs NLI To Louisville

Folks in Lincoln admit they don't have student-athletes signing full scholarships to Division One sports programs every day and so they wanted Cayden Spencer-Thompson to get the full attention.

They invited the media watch the outstanding triple jump athlete sign his National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Louisville and jump for the Cardinals track and field next year on a full scholarship. Louisville competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Spencer-Thompson owns state records in the long jump and triple jump. He received attention for many big time track and field college programs but after Louisville coaches visited him in Lincoln and he visited the school, Spencer-Thompson said he felt comfortable with his choice.

Along with starring in track & field at Mattanawcook Academy, Spencer-Thompson also plays football and basketball.

He said today he plans to play for the Lynx basketball team this winter with the full blessing of Louisville coaches.
