The Senior League allstars from West University LL in Texas know their way from the Lone Star State to Maine. The Texans are defending champions and have played in Bangor three of the last four world series.

In fact, West U will be playing in the fifth SLWS. Along with winning the title last year, the team won the world championship in 2009 as well.

The league is located in Houston and they have 1,300 kids playing from age 5 through the seniors division.

After losing their first game in the U-S Southwest Regional, West U came back to win four straight times, including an 8-1 win over Texas West in the regional final.

The Texans will be one of the favorites to win again at Mansfield Stadium. Their overall record at the SLWS is 14-6.

Their first game is Sunday, August 2nd at 11am vs U-S West champ Arizona.

By the way, since the Southwest Regional champs won their world title last August, they missed alot of what Maine has to offer. That includes our famous Maine winters.
