The Bangor girls basketball team got an early lead on #1 ranked Oxford Hills and beat the Vikes 49-42. The Rams pulled the upset despite shooting  just 39% from the foul line (11-for-28) and turning the ball over 21 times.

The win is worth a bunch of Heal Points to Bangor and improves the record to 5-6.

The top ranked Vikings fall to 10-1.

Senior Kate Butler led the Rams with 14 and defensively altered a lot of Oxford HIlls shots. Sophomore Abby Houghton came off the bench to score five field goals for 10 points in the fourth quarter. Olivia Sharrow and Sammi Thayer each added 9.

Oxford Hills was playing without its top scorer, Jadah Adams, who is out with a foot injury. Erin Morton led the Vikes with 13 points. Julia Colby added 9.

NOTE: The Bangor HS cheering team won the KVAC Class A championship with a score of 82.8. Lewiston finished second. Regional championship competition is next.
