Bruins Drop Preseason Finale, Regular Season Next [VIDEO]
The Boston Bruins closed out the preseason portion of their schedule with a shootout loss to the Washington Capitals and now focus on the games that count.The Caps scored on their first two shootout goals to take the win after tying the game and forcing overtime on a goal by Alex Ovechkin with under 3 minutes to play in regulation. Loui Eriksson scored the lone Boston goal in the first period.
Tuukka Rask made the start in goal, just his second appearance of the preseason and played the first two periods. Rask looked solid in net stopping all 15 shots he faced and declared himself ready for the start of the regular season.
The Bruins will drop the puck on the 2015-16 schedule Thursday when they host the Winnipeg Jets at the Boston Garden. They will follow that up with home games against the Canadiens and Lightning before hitting the road to Colorado.
