The Bruins have recalled forward Karson Kuhlman from AHL Providence.

Wednesday's move comes one day after the team announced that David Pastrnak underwent thumb surgery and will be out at least two weeks.

Kuhlman, who helped lead the University Minnesota-Duluth to an NCAA title last spring, will join the team for its upcoming five-game road trip, which begins Friday in Anaheim.

As a free agent last April, he signed a two-year deal with the Bruins.

In 50 games for Providence this season, the 23-year-old has tallied 12 goals and 13 assists.
