Washington goalie Braden Holtby turned into a brick wall that Boston could not shoot through and led the Capitals to a 2-0 win over the Bruins.The loss put an end to the Bruins five game win streak and was the first time they have been shutout since December 2.

Holtby stopped all 32 shots he faced and got enough offense with goals by John Carlson in the first period and another by Nate Schmidt in the second.

The Caps now have a 2-point lead over the Bruins for the first wildcard playoff spot. Boston returns to the Garden Tuesday for a game against Buffalo.
