The Boston Celtics say Paul Pierce's #34 will go to the rafters of Boston Garden on February 11th when the C's play the Cleveland Cavaliers.

That date is a Sunday afternoon and a nationally televised game.

From a a first round draft pick in 1998 to helping the Celtics win a 17th NBA title in 2008, Paul Pierce went on to play for the C's for 15 seasons. Only John Havlicek played longer for the Celtics (16 seasons).

Pierce scored 24,021 points. That's number two on the team all-time list. He is franchise leader is three pointers, free throws and steals

“The moment I was drafted by the Celtics, I knew I was joining one of the most historic organizations in the NBA,” said Pierce. “For 15 years, I played at the Garden, looking up at the jerseys of some of the most iconic players in the game – Russell, Bird, and Cousy.
