Cherington: Clean Break Best Thing For Me [VIDEO]
A new era in Red Sox history has begun as Dave Dombrowski has taken the reigns of the teams baseball operations after getting introduced at Wednesday press conference. He talked about the desire to retain the services of Ben Cherington as general manager which was declined, and the need to find better pitching as a component that will help keep the Sox out of last place and back to contending for World Series championships.
Roughly an hour after Dombrowski's press conference, Cherington met with the media to talk about his decision and how he thought it would be best to make a clean break for himself and the team.
Dombrowski also said he made his first move when he walked into the office and gave his blessing to file the papers that put pitcher Justin Masterson on waivers.
