Go figure. Eduardo Rodriguez had not given up a home run in his last five starts and then a Blue Jays rookie named Rowdy Tellez took him deep twice last night as Toronto pounded the Red Sox 10-3.

And, Tellez is a lefty hitter and finished the game with a career-high five RBI.

E-Rod was sailing along through three innings and then allowed three runs in the fourth inning and another three runs in the fifth. He is struggling against lefty hitters who are now batting over .350 against E-Rod.

Manager Alex Cora says E-Rod has got to get better vs lefty hitters...

On offense, the Red Sox got home runs from Mitch Moreland, Jackie Bradley Jr and Rafael Devers but they were all solo shots.

The real truth is the Sox could not get a key hit, 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base. Toronto pitching walked eight batters and yet the Sox could not cash in.

Game three of the four game series is tonight with Rick Porcello getting the start. Live coverage on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket starting at 6:05pm.
