On the first night of Players Weekend where all MLB players are using nicknames, J.D.'Flaco' Martinez had a career night in the Red Sox 11-0 victory in San Diego. Two home runs and a career-high seven RBI.

Martinez went 3-for-4, hitting home run #29 and #30. He now has 82 RBI.

Xander Bogaerts added two hits and two RBI. Rafael Devers had three hits (now hitting .331) and Mookie Betts rapped two hits.

The other storyline was Eduardo 'El Gualo' Rodriquez. Seven shutout innings on pitching. He gave up just five hits, a walk and struck out six. Put E-Rod's record at 15-5.

He joins Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole and Stephen Strasburg as MLB 15 game winners. Domingo Germain of the Yankees leads baseball with 16.

The Sox improve to 69-61 but remain 6.5 games behind in the race for a wildcard playoff spot.
