As the Boston Bruins get ready to drop the puck on a new season tomorrow night, an ankle injury to key defenseman Torey Krug will keep him out of action for at least three weeks.

It happened in the final preseason game Saturday night.

Krug suffered an ankle injury during the playoff series vs Tampa Bay last spring. The word is this injury is to the same foot but not the same injury.

He will be re-evaluated in three weeks - in other words, three weeks is just the minimum time lost. Expect more.

Krug had a career-high 14 goals and 45 assists last season.

The B's begin the NHL season at Washington tomorrow night, followed by a game in Buffalo Thursday night.
